History

MCC 2012 marks the Millennium Campus Network’s fourth annual conference.

This annual gathering brings together over 1,000 students and 50 speakers each fall from across the globe, reaffirming our generation’s commitment to reducing extreme poverty and achieving the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.

The Millennium Campus Conference was hosted at MIT in 2008, at Columbia University in 2010 and at Harvard University in 2011.

In 2011, over 1,000 students from across the world gathered together at Harvard University.

At Harvard University, the third annual Millennium Campus Conference took the non-profit sector by storm. Hundreds of students involved in incredible causes came together to network with each other and develop their skills to become stronger crusaders for accomplishing the Millennium Development Goals.

World-renowned speakers came, inspired, and empowered a generation.

Speakers at past MCCs have included Dr. Paul Farmer, Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, John Legend, K’naan, former USAID Administrator Henrietta Fore, Dr. Vanessa Bradford Kerry, Professor Robert Steven Kaplan, Monique Coleman, Bobby Bailey, Scott Harrison, and Adam Braun.

K’naan, a talented poet, rapper, singer, and songwriter, spoke to the audience and encouraged them to not just donate money, but to learn about the community you are helping and to learn something about yourself.
